Talk with several agents until you find one you feel comfortable with. Do NOT sign a buyer agency contract with any agent until you are sure that they are the one you wish to represent you.

Remember that the busiest agent in town isn’t necessarily the best choice. The goal is to find someone who you feel is ethical; someone who will keep your needs in mind on a daily basis.

You don’t have to work with just one agent unless you have signed a buyer agency agreement with them, but it is often in your best interest. An agent who knows you are working exclusively with them is more likely to be just as commited to helping you.

When you contact a Realtor...
Ask the agent to explain the services you can expect if you make him or her your buyer's agent.

Ask for a blank copy of the buyer agency contract and take a day or two to study it. If some aspects of the contract concern you, ask the agent to explain them.

Don’t let anyone pressure you into signing an agreement that doesn’t feel right.

Make sure the agent is familiar with the area you are looking in and also has knowledge of the condominium sales process - there are different things you need to know when dealing with the purchase and sale of a condominium.

Find out what happens if you are not happy or comfortable working with them.
